Job Description
The IT Trainee – Business Applications Support provides entry-level support for business applications and day-to-day IT operational activities. The role assists in user management, onboarding/offboarding processes, application support, and administrative tasks related to enterprise systems and user access. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience and foundational knowledge in supporting business-critical applications and IT processes.
 
 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Provide first-level support for business applications and assist users with basic system-related issues and requests.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding activities, including account setup, access requests, and coordination with IT teams.
  • Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access reviews in accordance with IT policies and procedures.
  • Support daily administrative tasks related to enterprise applications and operational IT processes.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking application incidents, service requests, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and vendors for issue resolution and support activities when required.
  • Maintain and update documentation, user guides, and process records related to supported applications.
 
 
Main Tasks
  • Assist with creation, modification, and deactivation of user accounts for supported applications.
  • Support onboarding activities for new joiners, including account readiness and basic IT orientation.
  • Support offboarding activities for leavers, ensuring account access and related processes are completed on time.
  • Respond to basic user queries and escalate complex issues to the Business Applications Specialist or relevant IT teams.
  • Maintain records of incidents, requests, and user access changes.
  • Assist with testing and validation during application updates or enhancements.
  • Support coordination activities with application vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform general administrative and operational support tasks related to business applications.
 
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or currently completing related studies.
  • Open to fresh graduates; this is an entry-level role. Prior internship experience or IT support experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 applications and IT support processes.
  • Familiarity with user account management and access control concepts is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and support enterprise applications such as IFS, AMOS, BASSnet, and OCS.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates energy, initiative, and a strong drive to learn.
  • Possesses a solution-focused mindset and positive attitude.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Able to work efficiently and systematically while delivering results within established timelines.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
