Höegh LNG assisted by our recruitment partner EQ8 are seeking to recruit a HSE Superintendent based in Oslo.

The LNG HSEQ Superintendent has a key role in managing, establishing and implementing HSEQ-improvement processes on the vessels and shore and shall be a quality control function of the Safety Management System (SMS). The LNG HSEQ Superintendent is a key member of the HSEQ team and Fleet Management. He/she is one of the direct links between the Fleet Management team and our clients vessels. This position ensures that the HSEQ-improvement processes are implemented and followed up systematically on the vessels and shore and is one of the main keys to address and rectify safety concerns. This position shall also manage and ensure the Risk Assessment process is improved and that a systematic approach is utilized using Risk Assessments in the fleet. 

Job Description

The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

• Improvement processes: Manage daily requests for assigned vessels related to SMS and HSEQ. Perform internal office and vessel audits under Seamless ISM/MLC/ISO scope as required.
• Risk Management and Management of Change: Manage Risk Management and MoC process. Perform training on RA and MoC.
• BASSnet Software and process: Superuser in BASSnet. Managing the structure and contents of work processes in or by BASS.
• Training: Create and execute HSEQ Introduction and training in Bassnet / HIIS-processes to shore and vessel personnel.
• Charterer’s reporting: Ensure input is ready from HSEQ for monthly and quarterly reports as required to Charterers before the 3PrdP of the month.
• Other: Attend Officer’s Conferences as requested. Participate and provide support from the HSEQ department in projects, campaigns, and tenders. Participate / lead incident investigations as requested.

Qualifications & Experience 

• Minimum Bachelor's, preferably Masters in Maritime, HSE or regulatory subjects.
• Candidates must have the right to live and work in Norway, or hold an EU or EEA passport.  
• Senior seagoing experience on LNG / FSRU vessels required.
• In-depth knowledge of maritime regulatory regime (IMO, Class, Flag), and HSE-requirements specified by Oil & Gas Companies (OCIMF).
• Experience with SMS and its usage onboard, preferable also from development of Management Systems on shore side.
• Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
