Do you want to work with partners in low- and middle-income countries to improve public health?
We seek a health economist to join our Global Health Cluster. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health has a vancancy for a permanent full-time position.
We need a health economist to engage in cooperation with partners in low- and middle income countries and to contribute to global level policy development. The position requires technical expertise in health economic evaluations, and/or health technology assessment (HTA), sufficient knowledge of evidence synthesis to support priority setting and tool development or adaptation in collaboration with our partners in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). Other desirable skills are experience with research-related and/or development cooperation.
The Cluster for Global Health is part of the Division for Health Services at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. We are a multinational team consisting of 44 engaged employees that conduct research, global level analysis and work with partners in low- and middle income countries to strengthen institutions and systems to improve public health. Important areas of work include research and knowledge sharing in areas such as health financing, health technology assessments and priority setting to optimize public health and health outcomes. We further work on digital health information solutions, health preparedness and response, institutional development, non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health. Our Cluster deliver editorial coordination and co-lead the Cochrane’s group on Effective Practice and Organisation of Care for LMICs and is a partner in the International Decision Support Initiative. Among our other important partners are the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), the World Health Organization (WHO), National public health institutes as well as local and international universities.
