Kongsberg Maritime through their subsidiary, Mesotech has a complete engineering, factory, and sales set up outside of Vancouver, Canada. Mesotech is a CAD 12 million operation with great growth potential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen as General Manager - Mesotech, reporting to EVP Fisheries in Norway. This position is the responsible for the overall business and operations out of Mesotech. The position is a part of the Fisheries Division Management Team. Fishery is a division within the Sensor and Robotics business that delivers fish finding and catch monitoring equipment to the global fishing fleet.

We believe the right person will have technical or financial background with experience in people and/or financial management. The Mesotech management team will report directly to you. We are looking for someone who is cooperative, responsible, self-driven and quality minded.

Role’s purpose and responsibility:

• Manage the Mesotech management team and the whole Mesotech organization with functions including: engineering, factory operations, finance, quality, supply chain and sales & marketing
• Develop and execute the strategy for Mesotech within the Fishery division
• Deliver profit & loss according to budget
• Close cooperation with the rest of the Fishery division and other relevant divisions within Sensor & Robotics
• Preferred location Vancouver (Port Coquitlam, British Colombia, Canada)

Key accountabilities:

• Full responsible for the entity’s profit and loss
• Develop, drive, and execute the strategy for Mesotech with close collaboration with the Fishery organization
• Define and follow up on KPIs
• Formal reporting on regular basis
• Be a role model for KONGSBERG values and behaviors
• Be a member of the Fishery divisional management team
• Close contact with customers internally and externally
• Travelling is expected

Qualifications and experience:

• 10+ years’ experience in leadership positions and several years with profit & loss responsibility
• Experience with change management
• Experience with managing a full value chain from engineering through factory to delivery is a plus
• Highly collaborative, experienced in working in complex matrix organization structures
• Strong delivery mindset and cost focus
• Value and behavior-based leadership style with ability to unify, change and motivate the organization according to agreed strategy
• Self-driven and ability to see the big picture with strong operational/execution skills
• Decisive and direct leadership style
• Market and business oriented
• Experience with Kongsberg Maritime’s international business principles is a plus
• A master’s degree within financial or technical fields
