Location - London and Remotely 

Statkraft has been active in the UK since 2003. We develop, own and operate renewable power production facilities, and are also involved in the trading and origination of power, gas, biomass and renewable certificates from our own projects and those of third parties. We have grown to be the market leading provider of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) to renewable energy generators in the UK & Ireland, and a significant participant in UK trading and origination.

We are a trading team in the global commodities markets within one of the leading and largest European renewable energy companies.

We use fundamental analysis to make trading decisions to utilise our risk capital to generate profits. To achieve the best results we need talented, bright, and driven people.

We are looking for a very ambitious working student who wants to actively support our trading team in developing solutions to increase profitability. This summer we would like you to join our team to undertake an internship and assist in our research and analysis.

During your summer internship you will:

• Learn about the commodities markets and trading
• Setup processes to extract and load more data into our database
• Extend and continue to build out our team’s analysis dashboard
• Manage and monitor our automated tasks
• Analyse and produce models from our data to aid in trading decisions

Your Profile

• University student enrolled in Computing, Maths, Electrical Engineering or similar degree
• Strong programming skills
• Familiar with SQL databases
• Quick learner with good critical thinking skills
• Interest in learning about trading and financial markets
• No financial/trading knowledge required
