KPMG Norway’s Corporate Intelligence unit is looking for an analyst to join our growing practice. We are a team of investigators and researchers helping our clients identify, manage, and mitigate compliance, reputational, regulatory, and political risks.

We work on behalf of public and private sector clients from industries such as renewable energy, biotechnology, asset management, construction, banking and finance, engineering, and oil and gas.

As an analyst you will contribute to a broad range of research and analysis projects including integrity and political due diligence, market entry, strategic intelligence, ESG due diligence, asset tracing, and investigations and litigation support.

We are looking for a team member who is curious and open-minded, has an interest in global affairs and markets, and is willing to continuously learn and acquire new skills and knowledge. The candidate should also have very good communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

Typical tasks in this position might include:

  • Using corporate registries and other public records to map corporate structures and identify ultimate beneficial owners
  • Researching companies and individuals in media sources and archives to identify signs of involvement in corruption, bribery, and other misconduct
  • Identifying Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs)
  • Investigative research using commercial databases
  • Writing in-depth narrative reports outlining all relevant findings using nuance and careful consideration of the facts
  • Meeting with clients to discuss findings and risk mitigation strategies

The position as analyst will particularly appeal to those who like to:

  • Dive deep into new complex topics
  • Conduct and write up in-depth investigative research
  • Follow the news about ongoing political, economic, social, and financial events
  • Learn about the complex relationship between business, politics, and economics

We are especially interested in hearing from prospective candidates who fulfill the following requirements:

  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Fluency in an additional foreign language, such as Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, German, French, or a Southeast Asian language, is an advantage though not a requirement
  • Fluency in Norwegian, written and spoken, is an advantage though not a requirement
  • Master’s degree – for example in international relations, security studies, political science, international development, economics, finance, business, anthropology, area or language studies, etc.
  • International experiences – e.g. internships, semesters abroad

We encourage new graduates to apply. While strong analytical skills are essential for this role, relevant work experience is not a prerequisite for the position. Training will be provided.
