We are seeking a Corporate Accountant for Group Accounting and Controlling, this position is based in Santos, Brazil.

Job Description

The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for completing monthly, quarterly and annual closes for the Company’s statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS, the Group’s accounting requirements and internal procedures and controls. You will be responsible for filing the local statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable local rules and regulations and the maintaining of the day‐to‐day relationship with the auditor and relevant public filing entities.

You will need to understand the strategic direction, the overall financing position, and the financial strategy of the company. You must have a good understanding of any loans and customer contracts, customer invoicing and audit procedures.

The main requirements for the role are:

• Book-keeping and obtaining proper approvals of inbound invoices and preparing and issuing payments
• Issuing outbound invoices to customers and recording receipts as well as following up on outstanding receivables
• Preparing and recording manual journal entries such as indirect and direct taxes
• Month and quarter‐end recurring reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, accruals, revenue recognition, deferrals, amortisations
• Local VAT and tax filings
• Ensuring timely settlements of payables
• Preparing and reviewing standalone financials, quarterly summarised statements of income, balance sheet, equity and cash flows
• Annual standalone financials including the Notes disclosures
• Performing analytical reviews of the financials
• Monthly cash‐flow forecasting
• Coordinating and liaising with internal parties to support intercompany activities
• Liaising with the external auditors and providing documentation as defined by their PBC‐lists during the interim and annual audits
• Assessing the impact of indirect taxes which might be incurred on cross‐border transactions
• Assisting on reconciling and analysing OPEX‐reporting including payroll
• Supporting and ensuring compliance with ICFR‐requirements as defined by the group
• Communicating effectively and professionally with clients, legal advisors, auditors, IFS‐suppliers and other vendors as well as across divisions within Höegh LNG Group. e.g., Asset Management, Treasury, Fleet Management, Legal, Business Development etc.


Qualifications

• You will have a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience
• You will have a background from accounting, external audit, internal control and/or financial reporting in an international business setting
• You will have IFRS competence including in-depth knowledge and work experience with the IFS Brazil extension and be engaged in testing of any updates to the Module
• You will have solid computer skills including working with general ledger systems. You will enjoy working with excel and have solid expertise and interest in developing ad‐hoc and management reporting tools to meet various Management requirements
• Fluency and proficiency in both written and spoken English is required
