As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Elkem IT you will be a part of the team responsible for developing and maintaining cloud and AI infrastructure services to support our world-wide business. In this job you will work in close collaboration with your colleagues to maintain, design, and execute new solutions and ensure that the solutions you develop are robust, scalable, and future proof, always working towards supporting our business needs.

 

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure in the Azure cloud and on premises for a global enterprise level platform, including storage and compute resources.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure related issues.
• Contribute to automation of solutions to facilitate efficient provisioning, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure and applications.
• Work closely with other senior engineers and teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
• Optimize and maintain cloud-based systems for scalability, performance, and security.

 

Experience and Skills

To succeed in this role, you must be able to work both independently and as a part of a team and you must have a service-minded approach. You understand and support business demands and priorities but can balance this with operational routines. You are structured and solution-oriented, eager to learn and able to adapt to changes.

We prefer that you have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. However, we also value experience and encourage candidates with proven extensive experience to apply even though you may lack academic credentials.
We are looking for someone that has experience with development and management of Microsoft Azure cloud services. If you also have knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI services, this will be a plus along with experience with infrastructure as code and knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Elkem is an international company, and we communicate with colleagues across the world in English on a daily basis. Being able to communicate well in English, both written and spoken, is a requirement for this position. If you also possess knowledge in other languages such as Norwegian, Chinese, French, or Portuguese this will be seen as a plus.

The work location is Kristiansand or Oslo and the position reports to Head of Digital Core in Elkem IT Infrastructure & Operations.
