We are looking for a chef for the summer season at Becks Brasserie & Bar Osebro in Porsgrunn, Norway. The position is full-time for two months, from mid-May to mid-July, with accommodation included.You will work closely with the head chef, sous chef and an apprentice as part of a structured kitchen team.


 

About the position

Becks Brasserie & Bar Osebro is located by the river in Porsgrunn and is one of the busiest restaurants in the area during summer. We combine a classic brasserie with a large outdoor dining area and an active environment with bar service and events.

Porsgrunn is a coastal town in the south of Norway, around 1.5 hours from Oslo. The city is known for its waterfront, summer atmosphere and close access to the coastline and islands. During the summer months, there is a steady flow of both locals and visitors, creating a lively and social environment.

Accommodation

Accommodation is included. You will have a private bedroom in a shared apartment with other staff (four bedrooms in total). The apartment is bright, clean and centrally located, within walking distance of the restaurant.


The role

As a chef with us, you will work in a structured kitchen with high pace, especially on weekends and busy summer days. On peak days we serve up to 300 guests. The kitchen team normally consists of several chefs and dishwashers, working closely together to maintain consistent quality throughout service.


The menu is varied and includes both classic dishes and our dry-aged concept. You will work with good ingredients in a kitchen with clear routines and expectations.


The restaurant also has an active atmosphere in the afternoons and evenings, with piano entertainment, DJs and events in the outdoor area. This creates steady volume and a dynamic work environment throughout the season.


Who we are looking for

You have kitchen experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You are structured, reliable and work well in a team.


It is an advantage if you:

– have experience from à la carte service

– are confident during busy service

– contribute positively to the team


The position is well suited for someone between seasonal jobs, or someone already in Norway looking for a focused and intensive work period.
