Do you have a good understanding of how to create a good dining experience for customers? Are you a strong communicator and facilitator to implement changes with kitchen and serving staff? We are recruiting for a Category Manager of Food to join our team!

 

Working Monday to Friday, 9-5, reporting into the Head of Onboard Food, Beverage and Hotel, you will need to be a strong communicator to develop relationships and be diplomatic to bridge gaps in an organisation. The Category Manager will be responsible for understanding passenger food trends and consumer insight. Whilst also liaising with the marketing and commercial teams to ensure they have the latest updates. The successful candidate will ideally have over 5 years experience within Category Management of Food or Food Service.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within DFDS so you will need to able to work in a fast moving environment.

 

Main responsibilities of the role:

• Managing stock levels in warehouses so we have the right amount for the operation.
• Ensure that new menus and offerings are briefed out in advance in full via information packs provided to the Commercial Experience Manager. in agreed timescales.
• Recommend new lines and specifications and adjust any food offer from negative feedback given by the Onboard teams and agreed with Commercial Experience Manager. and present to Head of food & Beverage.
• Working with suppliers and utilizing supplier insights to develop the assortment in specific outlets.
• Follow Market Food Trends and investigate any opportunities.
• Build Relationship with Channel Production and Compliance Manager

 

Skills and Experience:

• Ability to work on numerous projects at the same time with different agencies.
• Good understanding of what excellence is in food preparation and Food Safety Standards; you will have a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Law and Policies.
• Solid track record in developing top line growth for a quick service or full-service restaurant.
• Have a good understanding of Food Safety law and policies.
• Proactive, confident, and highly collaborative with strong influencing and leadership skills.
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills to guide execution of category strategies.
• Time management and project management skills coupled with the ability to influence others where necessary.
• Solid track record in developing bottom line impact within the categories managed.
