Warehouse Operative Days

The Role… A vacancy has arisen for a Warehouse Operative based at DFDS Logistics in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast paced, growing business. The role is reporting to the Shift Manager and Team Leader, the Warehouse Operative is a key member of our Operations Team. This role will involve all aspects of the warehousing process, including receipt of goods, picking, assembling and loading customer orders. Use of Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) and customer specific Warehouse Management Systems will be integral to the role. Focus on providing a high level of customer service whilst acting in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy.
The shift pattern for this role is working from 06:30 – 18:30 on a Butterfly shift:
Week one: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday
Week Two: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, pick, assemble, load orders, and tranship, in line with customer requirements and depot KPIs
- Work accurately and handle customer stock with care and consideration to minimise damages and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Operation of customer specific Warehouse Management Systems
- Work to pre-determined customer schedules ensuring loads are prepared in a timely manner
- Adhere to instructions and training guidelines regarding manual handling and the use of MHE, including pre-operational checks, reporting of defects, and the safe use and operation of all equipment
- Conduct tasks and activities in accordance with health & safety, food hygiene practices and environmental procedures
- Work in a temperature-controlled environment, ensuring stock is checked on receipt and stored at the correct temperature
- Contribute towards a clean and safe working environment
- Work in a team environment and supporting other team members
- Be pro-active in assisting the depot to continuously improve the service provided to the customer
- Treat others with dignity and respect
- Complete operational documents appropriately and in a timely manner
- Maintain agreed performance and quality standards
- Carry out any other duties and reasonable management requests
Essential Criteria:
- Ability to read, understand and follow instructions, work procedures and safety rules
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines & targets.
- Well organised & presentable
- Health & Safety aware
- Flexibility to work shift patterns (including unsociable hours)
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
