An exciting opportunity has arisen as Vice President R&D, reporting to Senior Vice President of Sensing Solutions. In this role, you will be a part of the Sensing Solutions Management Team. The business unit, located at Grilstad, Trondheim, includes R&D, product management, sales, service, and production, and delivers sensors, systems and services to a variety of maritime applications. You will be responsible for managing our R&D department consisting of highly skilled engineers within electronics, software, and advanced analytics.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for our technology strategy in strong cooperation with product line managers and management team
• Implementing and improving R&D project execution process
• Establish and maintain a network for promoting our technology
• Strengthen our innovation culture through developing and inspiring your colleagues
• Budget and prioritize resource spend to the best benefit of KM and Sensing Solution
• Recruitment of top-of-the-line developers

 

Qualifications and experience

• Master or bachelor within technical areas such as (but not limited to) cybernetics, electronics, computer science, industrial design, industrial engineering or technology management
• Leadership experience is required, including the ability to enable teams to work efficiently and collaboratively across a matrix organization, across diverse teams and cultures
• Understanding business and customer value
• Experience in strategy work
• Fluency in English both verbal and written
