Previous planning experience? Are you a confident communicator? We are looking for a planner to join our team, initially for 12 months, at our Belfast operation

 

Working various shifts each week, to help the department, we will need you to plan the routes of our vehicles every day, ensuring they get to their destinations on time. You will work as a team to solve problems whilst implementing driving improvements. The successful candidate should have previous planning experience within a similar environment and be able to create a cost-effective plan for collections & deliveries in the UK, which best fits our own trucking operation. This will include vessel bookings but ultimately, it is about meeting the needs of our business and customers, whilst ensuring compliance and regulations are adhered to. It is imperative you have excellent communication and customer service skills, as you will be overseeing sub-contractors & drivers within this role.

 

You must have experience of using Microsoft packages such as Excel and Word, as part of the role will include keeping our in house DFDS system ‘live.’ You should be self-motivated with an ability to deal with fast-changing environments combined with the ability to be flexible with your approach. This role does include a small amount of overtime when the business requires.
