We’re looking for a Transport Manager to lead our Transport Team based in Larkhall. Are you a natural problem solver? Highly organised and enthusiastic about transport & logistics? Enjoy being part of a high performing team?

Working 5 days from 7 a week, you will be managing the local transport team. Have an oversight of the planned deliveries and the day-to-day operations. With responsibility for the compliance of the Health & Safety on site, managing and coordinating our existing team, you’ll be ensuring all legal requirements are met, hence, ideally, you’ll have an international CPC. Working within our busy operation, you’ll need to build a strong relationship with our customers and ensure that our team are delivering the best service they can. Tasked with local driver management, organising training where necessary, ensuring the investigation of incidents & accidents are probed thoroughly, the root cause is established, and acted upon to avoid reoccurrence, where required.

You’ll need to be determined, have a positive can-do attitude, not be afraid to go into the detail when needed, whilst maintaining a broader overview of transport operations. Having a good knowledge of Microsoft packages and a proficient IT skillset, as you will need to conduct tachograph & driving style analysis. Naturally, excellent communication skills are a prerequisite, managing relationships with our subcontractors, ensuring all aspects of compliance are in place. We’ll want you to understand vehicle availability and investigate optimum ways of working, reducing costs, including effective implementation of vehicle maintenance procedures.
