Trainee Service Engineer - Automation & Controls


1) Qualification
• Graduate Engineer / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation discipline or equivalent.

2) Experience
• Understanding and knowledge of products, systems, their functionality, and applications.
• Meticulous & methodical approach to case handling.

3) Skills
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Collaborative & positive attitude
• Customer focus
• Strong problem solving skills

4) Travel
• Extensive travel whenever required.
• Prepared to travel on short notice.
• To possess valid travel document.
• Willingness to travel to any part of the world wherever company feels safe to travel.

5) Roles & Responsibilities
• To be able to use, apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
• Responsible for assisting Senior FSE/FSE in installation, inspection, and testing of machinery and equipment.
• Perform activities as instructed by seniors.
• Report progress debrief to Lead Engineer/Senior Engineer post service.
• Maintain good relationship with customers, representing the Kongsberg values.
• Responsible for generation of service reports/Time Sheets, update information database (CRM) and other relevant platforms in coordination with Senior/Lead Engineer.
• Developing Product Knowledge, to be a Certified engineer through Self Study/Classroom training as arranged by KMI.
• Demonstrate ability to make judgement based on practice and precedents.
• Problems solved require a developed understanding of related disciplines.
• Technically responsible for specific task or series of multiple well-defined technical tasks requiring leadership and delivery against programme milestones.
• Some level of novelty but normally small in scale. Will work with some ambiguity when considering the approach to the task.
• Responsible for identifying and implement continuous improvement, the transfer of best practice and adherence to process and procedures.
• Demonstrate an understanding of dynamics and relationship between relevant organisations in the field.
• Seeking and acting on feedback from colleagues.
• Typically interfacing and communicating to those familiar with technical subject. Able to accurately reflect views of all parties internally and externally.
