Technical Advisor, Warranty

To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a Technical Advisor to join our warranty handling team here at Kongsberg Maritime in Trondheim. As a Technical Advisor, you will have the responsibility for handling warranty claims on Kongsberg’s equipment installed on ships, as well as offer support to the colleagues around the world. Among our wide range of sensors and systems for Engine Monitoring and Tank Management we have the fiscal K-Gauge Custody Transfer System (CTS), which is a critical system in LNG and LPG carrier operations.

Key accountabilities

  • Handle warranty claims, including diagnosis, technical evaluation and implementation of solution, mainly related to our K-Gauge CLS and CTS product ranges
  • Technical support to service engineers on relevant tasks related to upcoming services
  • Configuration and set-up of spare parts before being shipped to customers
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Warranty Team and other departments (R&D, Product and Project) to improve processes and products
  • Perform hand-over checks from Newbuild phase to Aftermarket phase
  • Establish claims towards vendors and track defective parts returning from customers

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant technical education & background, typically bachelor’s degree in electronics, instrumentation, automation or similar. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
  • Good skills in use of digital applications (AX/ERP, CRM, Teamcenter, Microsoft Office etc.)
  • Experience from maritime, shipping and/or offshore oil & gas installations is an advantage, but not essential
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Norwegian/Scandinavian
