SEB Pension & Försäkring is now looking for a Tech Lead within our Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse team.
SEB Pension & Försäkring is one of the leading life insurance companies in the Nordics with 1.8 million customers, whereof 1.3 million in Sweden. In our data driven journey we are now looking for someone to join us in developing our new data warehouse.

About the team and the job
As a Tech Lead you will join an ambitious data warehouse team that is determined to build SEB Pension & Försäkring’s next generation information platform. As a team, we take pride in delivering high quality solutions in a timely manner. Even though IT is our core competence, it is important for us to have knowledge about the business we support as well. In our team, we cover different roles such as business analysts, ETL developers and QA analysts, distributed across two geographical locations. We all come from different backgrounds and cultures but together we are a close-knit team with a joint mission – to create a second to none information platform for SEB Pension & Försäkring.
As a Tech Lead in our team, you will be expected to be proficient in all facets of data warehousing including early requirements phases, architecture, and ETL development. Your key competence should be within data modelling and be able to work closely with business to analyse and understand requirements in order to create IT specifications for implementations. You will be the owner of the central Data Warehouse model, both on business level as well as on technical level, and be responsible for extending it with new business concepts and maintaining it over time.

Who are you?
To be successful in this role you are a driven team player. You need to be a good communicator since you are expected to be able to mentor other team members in areas where you are more senior. You will need to have the ability to easily understand the overall strategies and technical roadmap in order to convey that to the team. You strongly believe that an agile team approach is the best way of pushing initiatives forward in an organization. In a team set up, it is important to find a balance between taking own initiative/doing things independently and working closely with other team members. Since half of our delivery team is located in Kuala Lumpur, it is important to be able to communicate well in English (verbal as well as written) and to be open to work in different arrangements. It will be an advantage if you have previous experience working in a distributed team across geographical locations. Occasional travel to Malaysia may also be needed. Data warehouse design principles based on Ralph Kimball and Bill Inmon should be familiar to you.

In order to fit into this role, we are looking for someone with extensive experience working within the BI and Data Warehousing field and the various disciplines within this area. You should have the following skills and experience, listed in the order of importance:

• Expert in data modelling
• Previous experience from the insurance industry or investment banking is highly recommended preferably using the IBM Insurance Information Warehouse Model
• Proficient in data mappings and workflow designs; data warehouse design principles

Tools we are using in our everyday work are for example Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL, UML or E/R notation using tools such as CA Erwin, SPARX Enterprise Architect.
