Specialist Back Office Revenue Accounting (m/f/d)

Your department:

You will be part of the multi-national Back-Office team in Statkraft, which currently consists out of about 90 colleagues. The colleagues are based in Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Oslo, London and Tirana. Back Office is the process engine for all commercial transactions responsible for validation of the transactions, clearing and collaterals, contract settlements, billing, accruing, revenue accounting and EU regulatory reporting for all trading and origination transaction across Europe and the US. In a quick and changing environment we are building the bridge between our commercial departments and Finance units

The Revenue accounting team is responsible for the financial operations of all traded products. The team’s main tasks include, PnL reconciliation, Revenue accounting and support in new products implementations. In addition, the team is responsible to deliver timely and accurate financial commercial figures to our Finance Department. (Net revenue /operating revenue).

Your role:

  • Strong contribution in month-end closing processes, including inventory calculations and accruals handling.
  • Excellent understanding of the components of a trade deal and the implications for billing, PnL analysis, SAP booking, Tax treatments and all revenue accounting aspects
  • Primary contact to the back office operational teams for our business in Düsseldorf and Amsterdam for different commodity products traded in different countries such as power, gas, options, futures and certificates.
  • Approve and control month end postings.
  • Active contribution to improvement and quality assurance of processes and systems
  • Communicate with internal and external customers about all matters regarding operational trading.
  • Close co-operation with other units in the Finance Department. 

Please note that this position is initially on a 2-year contract.

Your profile:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or Business Administration
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in Financial or accounting tasks. Experience in energy related companies is an advantage
  • Deep understanding of SAP (Hanna) FI is a must
  • Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
  • Excellent IT skills, especially MS Excel and SAP BW
  • Excellent skills to manage complex and multiple data sets and several reconciliations tools
  • Precise, accurate and systematic working style
  • Experience with operational excellence initiatives or being part of an operational excellence team is an advantage
  • A good team player with excellent communication skills; Experience in a multi-national environment is an advantage.
  • Strong command of English, any other language is a plus
  • Enjoy working in fast-paced, challenging and international environment
