Kongsberg Digital provides advanced simulation systems for maritime education, training and studies. Our wide range of simulators enables customers to provide efficient and realistic training of students and crew in order to build vital skills that promotes safety, cost-efficiency and sustainability in operations at sea. K-Sim Connect is the cloud-based eco-system for maritime education and training.

 

As an integral part of our growing global technology team, you will lead the architecture, delivery to build and maintain our next-gen product and enable untapped value streams in the education business of maritime industry.

 

Further, you will:

 

Technology & Delivery

• Deliver strong, scalable architecture in line with the product vision, timelines and quality standard.
• Deliver key research (MVP, POC) with an efficient turn-around time to help make strong product decisions.
• Responsible of the product cloud platform from development to deployment. Ensure operational aspects of the platform with minimal down time.
• Participate with product stakeholders on requirements brainstorming and recommend potential solutions.
• Work with the team to identify and prioritize work as per delivery timelines by translating requirements and ideas to tangible work items.
• Demonstrate key expertise on modern technologies, architecture and design. Mentor the team to deliver modular, scalable and high performance code.
• Monitor and review work progress with the team, report any key deviations/risks.
• Continuously update and learn new technology trends to build key/strategic expertise in the team.

 

Leadership

• Lead interaction with product stakeholders and management to drive the team ahead in a dynamic, fast pasted, agile driven work environment.
• Champion product architecture and vision with stakeholders, fellow architects, senior personnel and team.
• Lead the path on innovation and key research to keep the product, team at the cutting edge of technical and product innovation.
• Drive discussions to decisions through excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate decisiveness through excellent situation awareness on timelines, quality and other critical parameters for the deliveries.
• Lead the team to stay informed on latest technologies and trends in the industry.
• Champion cloud technology, architecture in the organization.

 

To be a fit for this position, you have:

 

Education

• Masters/Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a reputed university with an excellent academic record.
• Certification on Azure, Architecture or Technology is a definite plus.

 

Work Experience

• 12-15 years of relevant industry experience with at least 5+ years of solution/system architecture and leading delivery teams.
• 8+ years working in distributed agile development teams in product/project development with at least 5+ years of experience with international stakeholders/customers.
• 5+ years on Azure Cloud platform. Exposure on other cloud platforms is a plus.

 

Technology

• Azure Cloud: Kubernetes (AKS), Docker (Windows & Linux),
• Architecture & Design: Micro services, Cloud Native Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture
• Programming languages: Hands on expertise with C#.Net, .Net Core, Web API, Perl/Python scripting
• Database: Hands on expertise with CosmosDB, Azure SQL and other relevant databases/
• Front-end technologies: Hands on experience with JavaScript, Typescript and web front-end frameworks like Angular, Vue, React is a plus.
• Strong foundations in object oriented design, algorithms, data structures and asynchronous systems.
• Version control: Expertise using Git for version control, release and branching strategies.
• Testing: Unit tests, Automated tests
• DevOps: Hands on experience with CI/CD is a plus.
• Experience with maritime ecosystem or online learning platforms is a definite plus.
