Software Developer / Business Scripter

Statkraft has been active in the UK since 2003.� We develop, own and operate renewable power production facilities and are also involved in the trading and origination of power from our own projects and those of third parties.� We have grown to a significant UK market participant in trading and origination and are a major provider of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) to independent generators of renewable electricity.� During 2017, we also launched an Energy Services business with sales of renewable electricity and customer support to the industrial and commercial market.

Your Department:

Statkraft's Global Software Development team is a specialist software development team that delivers leading software for all business areas in Statkraft, ranging from web applications to advanced analytics tools. Custom software development is essential for Statkraft to remain a market leader in renewable energy production and market access. We are now looking for great people to join our software development team. If you enjoy challenging yourself by pushing boundaries and working in a competitive environment where technology is evolving the business we operate in, then we would like to talk to you.

Your role:

You will closely engage with the business by developing customized systems giving Statkraft a competitive edge in the power market. The following tasks are mainly part of your job profile:

  • Work with the business teams to understand the business process and needs; design the technical concept and develop high quality software within agreed timescales
  • Support the SCRUM release and sprint planning processes through analysis and estimation of development work
  • Work together with the business users to develop advanced algorithms that solves complex business problems
  • Develop and maintain small to enterprise scale applications in a range of technologies
  • Prepare release notes and operational handover documents
  • Play an essential part of developing the software development team & processes within Statkraft
  • Participate in system development projects
  • Help develop best practices and run training courses on various software development topics for business scripters

Your profile:

  • Several years of software development experience
  • Some experience in Energy trading business
  • Experience as a business analyst preferred.
    • Experience in working with financial & time series data and systems supporting business or industrial processes
    • Scripting experience in Python is essential
    • .net, C# and modern web (JavaScript) competence is preferred
    • Pro-active team player who feels responsible and enjoys challenging him/herself
    • Aager to learn about new trends and technologies and able to help others develop
    • Always pushing for excellence and high quality
