We in Kongsberg Discovery believe that the key to the continued survival of humanity lies in the sustainable management of the ocean resources. KONGSBERG is committed to providing world class tools and systems for ocean exploration and assessment. We in the Ocean Science department aim to build systems that support the world in quantifying the realities of the ocean and assess the impact of human industrialization of the ocean resources. Do you want to join us on our mission to unlock the secrets of the oceans? If so, we would very much like to talk to you.
We supply a wide range of ocean monitoring sensor systems and the corresponding digital solutions. Our newest digital cloud-based product, Blue Insight, bridges the gap between world class sensors and world class scientists.

- Design of software solution including controlling echosounders, remote control systems, ship-and cloud side data management.
- Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for portability and scalability of software components.
- Lead design of workflow orchestration tools to streamline data processing pipelines, which may run at the edge or in the cloud.
- Lead the development and integration of data exploration and visualization tools, including JupyterHub and Kepler.gl, for geospatial analysis.
- Embrace an API-first and microservices architecture to ensure scalability and modularity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and marine scientists to align software development with scientific goals.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation in ocean data management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Software Architect or similar role, with a track record of architecting complex systems.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies.
- Experience with microservices architecture and API design.
- Proficiency in software development languages (e.g., Python, C#, or Typescript/Javascript) and expertise in software design patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor development teams.
