In order to strengthen our Wind & Site team, we are looking for a senior Wind Resource Analyst. You are an expert in analysis of wind data, modeling of wind flows and energy prediction calculations supporting the evaluation and development of prospective and existing onshore wind farms. You will continually engage with and support our project developers in UK, Ireland, Spain and other markets in Europe and South America.

Your role:

• Perform as an expert in the area of wind resource analysis on new wind energy projects
• Responsible for designing and optimizing wind farm layouts and carry out energy yield assessments
• Cooperate with technical experts on the suitability of turbines for particular sites with regards to the meteorological site conditions
• Assist with analysis in due diligence and acquisition processes
• Develop site specific measurement campaigns
• Follow up and contribute to the R&D activities the department is engaged in
• Procure consultancy services to support own analyses
• Verify, and if applicable, challenge the external consultants on their methodologies

Your profile:

• University-/ Master degree (or PhD) in meteorology, physics, aerodynamics or other relevant field
• Extensive experience in modeling and analyzing wind resources and site conditions for wind farm sites
• Experience with programming is required
• Experience with Windsim and WindPro or other wind energy and/or CFD modeling tools is required
• Competence within mesoscale numerical simulation models such as WRF is an advantage
• Experience from working with and managing computer clusters is appreciated
• Understanding of measurement techniques relevant for the wind energy industry
• Apart from excellent analytical skills, you have a high level of motivation and "self-starter" attitude
