Kongsberg Gruppen
Senior Software Engineer
Holdingselskaper
WHY
Are you passionate about ground-breaking technologies and the future of our oceans? Less than 20 per cent of the world ocean's seafloor has been mapped. We need more knowledge about the seafloor to be able to utilize the resources of the oceans in a sustainable manner. KONGSBERG has committed to the global initiative to produce a complete map of the seafloor by 2030. We are also involved in many other important initiatives. Do you want to join us on our mission to unlock the power of the oceans? If so, we would very much like to talk to you.
HOW
You can be a part of this mission as a Senior Software Engineer in our highly competent team of software engineers that work with a multitude of different systems that monitor and map the seafloor and sediments below. Advanced multibeam echosounder technologies are used for mapping, making it possible to generate high resolution seabed imagery, giving detail way beyond what has been obtained before. Our multibeam systems are used for mapping, finding ship- and air wrecks and discovering other objects on the seafloor or below seafloor. We look for a new team member who can, together with us, develop and build the next generation multibeam systems for the global market.
WHAT
You will be a part of the software team and contribute with world class programming and design. We are looking for a software engineer who can take our code base to the next level through creating readable, maintainable, and optimized code. On a day-to-day basis you will be involved in software system design, specification, development, implementation and test on software and hardware. You will also have the opportunity to participate in sea trials in order to test your code and algorithms. The testing facility, the Oslofjord, is right outside our offices in Horten.
We offer you an opportunity to work closely together with the best multibeam specialists in the world. You will be part of an inspiring and safe work-environment, and have the possibility to make a difference for mapping the seafloor and contributing to a sustainable future of the oceans. We also offer personal and professional development, and if you are able and willing to take more responsibility, we can offer such roles as well.
In addition we offer flexible work hours, the possibility to work from home office and a good pension and insurance scheme.
