Senior R&D Chemist – Protective & Floor Coating

As a step towards strengthening our Regional R&D for Protective & Floor Coatings, we are looking for a Senior R&D Chemist. The new Senior R&D Chemist will have a key role to develop and maintain Protective & Floor Coating products, and at the same time secure the technology competence development required for succeeding in our ambitious strategy.
This role will be based in Dubai, UAE and caters to MEIA (Middle East, India, Africa) market. The successful candidate will report to the Regional R&D Manager- Protective Coatings.
- Lead the development of new products and solutions, in alignment with the defined ambition and strategy
- Collaborate and align with other Jotun R&D laboratories while working on projects.
- Demonstrate and develop the technical competencies.
- Have formulation and technical responsibility for products through development and maintenance.
- You have 12-18 years of experience in Protective & Floor coating field.
- You have a higher Education Degree in Chemistry/Polymer/Paints.
- Strong knowledge of organic chemistry. Inorganic chemistry knowledge would be added advantage.
- You have wide Protective Coatings experience. Expertise on Floor Coating experience would be added advantage.
- Technical expertise in epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea, polyaspartics, cementitious, water-based technologies for floor coatings.
- Knowledge about Protective & Floor coating system recommendation, application techniques, product demonstration, complaint handling and overall industry.
- Experience to lead complex, mid to long term R&D projects.
- Acts on own initiative, make things happen and accepts responsibility for the results.
- Uses a methodical and systematic approach; plans ahead, defines clear priorities and allocates resources effectively.
- Quickly understands and analyzes complex issues and problems; comes up with sound and rational judgments.
- Demonstrates specialist knowledge and expertise in own area; participates in continuous professional development.
- Produces fresh and imaginative ideas and solutions; breaks away from tradition; promotes change and novelty.
