An exciting opportunity has arisen as Senior Project Engineer in the machinery design department in Kongsberg Maritime, Ship Design. The Machinery design department is responsible for the ship and machinery systems including layouts and arrangements within the Ship Design Busines unit.

 Senior Project Engineer is a role typically responsible to manage the Machinery design department's role and responsibility in ship design projects. You will be responsible for managing and planning of the deliveries, necessary document requirements towards customers as well as internal suppliers, relevant approvals from Classification Society and authorities and acquire necessary resources. The role also contributes actively in new sales, tender and concept projects, as well as R&T and after-market support. 

 Key accountabilities

• Discipline Leader in ship design projects
• Coordinate the machinery discipline responsibilities in ship design projects
• Manage allocated project engineering resources in the project team
• Manage deliveries and approvals towards customer
• Manage and follow up approval process towards Class Society and National Authorities
• Responsible to quality and standard of deliveries
• Manage and report delivery performance to the project manager
• Contribute in overall vessels arrangement and functional design
• Participate in new sales work and tender projects

 

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant education from college or university
• Experience from shipdesign engineering
• Experience from shipbuilding or ship operation experience
• Machinery system design
• Ship arrangements and outfitting
• Interdisciplinary knowledge of shipdesign
• Knowledge about class rules and Authority requirements
• CAD drafting and drawings and project follow-up software
• Good Norwegian and English verbally and writing
