Overview of Position:

• Perform technical tasks in projects (Both Local and oversea).
• Participate in project meetings.
• Design the system, such as layout, network, ensure correct powering and redundancy, verify space for all equipment, verify all cabling and check no cabinets to be overfilled with modules, all according to KM basic design standards.
• Distribute and support activities for other engineers.
• Report eventual problems with products and tools to group manager.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in the project and report possibilities to group manager.
• Cooperation and follow-up of vendors and sub-contractors.
• Act as site lead when allocated / nominated by PM/DM.
• Prepare for and participate in IAT (Internal Acceptance Test) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) as allocated by group manager.
• Participate in installation and commissioning including CAT (Customer Acceptance Test) as allocated by group manager.
• Work together with other project participants at various sites.
• Participate in technical surveys.
• Technical contact point with other delivery groups in projects when allocated as HW responsible within the project.
• Assist and advise PM regarding best solutions and technical planning.

Responsibilities

• To be a mentor and serve as a role model for the other engineers in the department. Contribute to continuous improvement for the department work procedures, based on experience from own work.
• Responsible for the full picture engineering or engineering of one or more subsystems in integrated project deliveries.
• Technical responsibility for task execution, as allocated by group manager
• Responsible for hardware design within the project. i.e. design the system and network, ensure correct powering and redundancy, verify space for all equipment, verify all cabling and check no cabinet to be overfilled with modules, all according to KM basic design standards.
• Responsible for project documentation.
• Quality check own work and quality check other project engineers work in various projects.
• Determination and ability to find good and accurate solutions.
• Ensure work is done according to project plan, procedures and checklists.
• Divide system into manageable issue and prepare project work packages to other project engineers.
• Report progress regularly basis to group manager and project manager.
• Guide and advice PM regarding solutions and progress planning.
• Representing the Kongsberg values.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation)
• 3 to 5 years of experience as project engineer with excellent proformance
• Knowledge about most subjects within the various HW components.
• Experience from Marine Automation / Process Automation.
• Fluent written and spoken.
• Practical hand-on approach to complex tasks.
• Experience and Knowledge of Kongsberg Maritime’s products.
• Positive attitude, cope with challenges and finding solutions.
• Restrained personality, go-ahead spirit and target oriented.
• Be able to focus on the customer’s needs and expectations.
• Cooperative and good communication skills.
• Overall focus on quality.
• Accept travelling as required by project.
• Assist project manager and site manager in the kick-off process from Sales & Marketing department, and the contract follow-up on project hardware matters.
• Be a contact point between local project teams, headquarters and the customers for the project hardware matters.
• Responsible for keeping updated on all technical solutions and releases.
• Continuously improve the products and services rendered to the customers and improve the working procedures and routines in close cooperation with headquarters and local management.
• Actively contribute to a good working environment and cooperation with all different departments of KM, customers and suppliers.
• Actively contribute to technical updates within focus group as well as department.
• Pay package and job grade will be commensurate with skills and experience
