We are looking for a collaborative and reliable Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Deck Machinery team. Our team develops, deliver and maintain complex winch and handling systems for a broad range of vessels within the offshore market. Currently we have a special focus on solutions within offshore wind and renewables. With us you will contribute to developing new and exciting products and be part of a highly skilled team. We encourage experienced engineers with maritime industry and/or operational knowledge to apply.

The position is in our Deck Machinery and Motion Control division which owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

Key accountabilities

• Lead development of new products, systems and concepts
• Design and verification of winches and other handling equipment
• Multi-discipline collaboration within the different divisions in Kongsberg
• Execute and coordinate customer deliveries
• Take an active role in shaping product area with close collaboration with key industry players
• Support our sales organization with solutions and offers for customers
• Contribute to our team; socially and professionally

 

Qualifications and experience

• Degree within mechanical engineering or similar
• Strong competence within mechanical 3D-design, we use NX/Teamcenter.
• Knowledge in hydraulics or structural calculation experience/competence
• Experience with system integration
• Experience from working with project execution and customer interaction
• Practical experience from maritime industry or experience from offshore marine operations is an advantage
• Commercial mindset
