Senior HR Advisor

The position:

DFDS have grown significantly over the last years and the demand for talented people is equally increasing. As part of the growth, we streamline our HR processes and adjust towards a digitized workflow, while increasing HR’s impact and value creation with our business. 

Therefore, we are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join DFDS’ People Division to support and advise our managers and employees in DFDS in Denmark and contribute to our efforts in attracting and recruiting talent. In this role you will get the opportunity to combine recruitment and HR advisory and operational support, while being the anchor of optimizing our HR operational processes in line with a focused digital HR journey.

As part of this effort, we aim to strengthen our partnership with educational institutions, further develop our trainee program and facilitate a close collaboration with the DFDS student network. Yow will play a key role in these activities, while joining an HR team of skilled and dedicated people within Talent Acquisition and HR Operations in Denmark & Poland.

Reporting to the HR Director of Headquarter, Denmark & Poland, you will be working from the DFDS’ headquarter in Copenhagen.

Main responsibilities

The role allows a broad range of HR responsibilities and provide opportunities for personal and professional development as an HR professional:

HR advisory & operations

You will provide hands-on and comprehensive HR advisory to managers and employees in relation to HR policies, employment law, performance, and engagement, alongside activities regarding the annual people operating plan.

You will create impact through providing qualified guidance to managers and being closely involved in various types of employee relation activities. Further, you will have close collaborating with stakeholders across DFDS, e.g. Payroll and perform the relevant HR administrative processes through tools and HR systems (e.g. our Microsoft D365 HR platform).

Recruitment & talent attraction

As part of the role, you will be managing a professional recruitment process from the initial search, screening, interviewing and through to the offer being made. You will have a close collaboration with hiring managers across DFDS and provide sparring and support in the end-to-end recruitment process. Further, you will play a key role in coordinating our Trainee Program across DFDS and strengthen the collaboration with higher educational institutions and student networks.

Process optimization

We have a high focus on process optimization and simplifying the process flow for managers, employees and HR, and you will play an important role in identifying process improvements and collaborating with relevant stakeholders e.g. our HR Digitalization team for implementation, while aligning to our Microsoft D365 platform. 

Preferred professional candidate profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional, and we foresee that the candidate:

  • Has a relevant Master degree
  • Has recruitment / sourcing experience covering all aspects of a full-cycle recruitment process and hiring manager sparring, and preferably have a good understanding of employer branding and how to use different channels like social media, career fairs etc. in a recruitment setting
  • Has several years of HR experience, and is successful in developing close relationship with business stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Is confident in challenging the leaders constructively and uphold confidentiality and trust
  • Has knowledge, interest and experience with process improvement, digitalization, and project management
  • Is fluent in English and Danish 

Preferred personal candidate profile

We envision that you are proactive and self-driven with the ability to influence and communicate effectively. Further, that you like to work in a fast-moving environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
