Your department:

You will work within Statkraft’s Continental Asset Portfolio team at the heart of this debate, following closely (new) long term developments. We hold the responsibility to evaluate the future margin from existing assets as well as from future projects in the wholesale market for power. Statkraft’s ambition is to grow in the wind, solar and hydro generation business throughout Continental Europe. Your holistic view on the total asset portfolio and the risk / reward function of individual projects will enable Statkraft to take the right decisions going forward.

Your role:

We expect you to derive recommendations to higher management by taking a leading role in Statkraft wide projects with experts from various fields (price forecasting, production modelling, regulatory affairs, etc.). Your profound capabilities of data analytics and understanding of the broader picture will add valuable insights into the decision-making process. We also expect you to proactively engage within the Statkraft organization to drive change and enlarge Statkraft capabilities for profound decision making.

We cooperate closely with Statkraft’s M&A, project development and trading teams as well as various experts. The team is located in Düsseldorf, Germany.

  • Deliver and present insights for asset specific and portfolio decisions to higher management
  • Lead revenue evaluations for assets in M&A processes as well as development projects in any Continental European electricity market
  • Assess the underlying fundamentals driving the value of Statkraft’s asset portfolio analytically and qualitatively
  • Simulate the value of power plants as well as long term contracts for all value pools (wholesale market, value of flexibility, capacity market, etc.)
  • Further develop our quantitative asset portfolio valuation toolbox
  • Actively drive the change of Statkraft’s portfolio composition and take on responsibility from day one

About you:

We look for an experienced Senior Commercial Analyst (m/f/d) with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes:

  • Excellent university degree in economics, engineering or science
  • At least 3 years experience within the electricity industry with profound understanding of the dynamics of electricity markets and their impact on asset revenues
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into concrete and easily understandable recommendations and actions
  • Experience in leading projects and excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Very strong analytical and commercial mind-set
  • Profound knowledge in modelling, programming (e.g. python), data analytics with excellent statistical understanding is a must
  • Very proactive way of working
