Senior Business Analyst for Group Financial Planning & Analysis

The Group Financial Planning & Analysis Team is responsible for driving the company’s short-term and long-term planning cycles, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure plans are aligned and executed upon.

The team is also responsible for analysing, tracking and challenging the performance of the business units in DFDS against their strategic ambitions, to deliver analysis to Group and BU management, to highlight performance gaps and potential improvement opportunities as well as to ensure that actions are properly identified and implemented to close potential gaps.

The role of the candidate is to work with peers across Business Units, core Group functions as well as senior management. The team support the decision-making process by providing value-add analysis, financial management information, performance management reporting and financial planning.

The candidate will work with all levels of the organization which requires a clear understanding of the level of quality and commitment required to meet ambitious targets and constantly improve our business and financial processes.

We are looking for a very experienced person to further strengthen the Group Financial Planning & Analysis function, to take us one step further, and to play a very central role in driving business performance management throughout DFDS.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be part of a small team that works closely with senior management in DFDS. Through close interaction with the Business Units, the candidate will analyse, discuss and challenge the financial, operational and commercial performance and trends, and influence appropriate actions to ensure financial results meet the set targets.

As a Senior Business Analyst you will work with multiple aspects of our financial planning processes; process optimization and execution, financial planning and analysis as well as communication towards management of DFDS. Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for execution, planning and design of all forecasting processes
• Drive an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the strategic objectives.
• Performance analysis and special assignments to influence decisions. This includes research, analytics, and partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Delivering value-added business analysis as well as defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful, accurate business decision-making.
• Delivering a comprehensive understanding of all key business drivers and sophisticated financial models that enable the team to deliver insightful, value-added analysis

Who we are looking for?

The position requires profound business and financial understanding as well as analytical skills at a very high level. The ideal candidate holds a Master degree in Finance or Economics or equivalent.

• You hold at least 8 years of work experience from a similar position within financial planning and analysis, performance management and/or strategy consultancy, business development or equivalent, preferably combined with some commercial and operational exposure from relevant industries, thereby understanding the implicit trade-offs of complex business dilemmas.
• We expect you to have an analytical mind-set and a self-starter attitude being able to see opportunities and invite yourself to the table
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills being able to work with both management and employees in a global organisation
• Used to working in a challenging and changing environment dealing with a lot of different tasks at the same time and managing deadlines along the way
