The main activities of the Business Area Markets and IT (M) are energy management for Statkraft’s assets, trading & origination and market access services in Europe, USA, South America, India, and Turkey. In addition, the business area contains local business support, finance & risk support, and IT services. In M there are more than 700 employees. 

International Markets (MG) is part of M with offices in Brazil, Chile, Peru, India, and Turkey. Our goal is to maximize the commercial value of Statkraft’s asset base in these markets and contribute to further growth as well as to develop profitable activities within trading and origination. 

The department Strategy and Commercial (MGS) supports the SVP and each of MG’s country organizations. We link the country organizations together with each other and with the rest of Statkraft in areas such as market analysis, production planning, contracting, and portfolio analysis. We aim to utilize Statkraft processes, systems, and competence where profitable, while maintaining a market centric approach in each country. MG currently uses systems and tools like ADAM, SDDP, SHOP, SHyFT, and SalesForce.  

We work in close cooperation with many departments both in M and in other Business Areas. Key interfaces for this role are with International Power, ME, MI, and CSA. 

One of our colleagues has found another exciting position in another part of M, and we are therefore looking for his replacement. 

Senior Business Analyst  

The role reports to VP Strategy and Commercial in MGS and is based in Oslo. The role has extensive international exposure, and travel must be expected. The working language is English, however other languages are an advantage. 

Your role: 

• Take a leading role in MG in the digital domain, representing MG in relevant digital forums in M and cooperating with MI and the BIT 
• Contribute to strengthening competence, processes, and systematic work with market and other analyses in MG, including relevant digital tools.
• Keep overview of market developments and interact with analysts and users of market information also outside MG 
• Develop and maintain cooperation agreements and good practical cooperation between MG and other organizational units  

Your profile:  

• Master’s degree in business, economics, engineering, or equivalent 
• Broad digital competence relevant for MG’s IT systems and processes, seniority to represent MG in digital forums across M and Statkraft, and initiative and drive to see improvements through to gain realization in the digital domain 
• Experience from making or using market analyses, process improvements, extracting and presenting essentials to wider audiences 
• Strategic perspective, initiative, commercial drive  
• Strong business understanding (markets, business activities, processes, organization) 
• Process and project competence 
• International experience and intercultural skills, with ability to cooperate well with others and facilitate cooperation across countries and organizational units 
• Ability to write clear and precise documents in English
