Project Engineer (Calculation Expert)

In this role, you will be a part of the Global Customer Supports’ Service Delivery Team, and report to the Service Delivery Manager. You will be responsible to Ensure structural integrity on designed producst are according to customer and class requirements. You will provide Structural analysis of parts and assemblies and  local structural analysis. You will be able to maintain accurate documentation of the design process in form of FEM results and supporting calculations, including documentation for class approvals. In addition you will provide calculation reports for internal and external use.

Key accountabilities:

• Ensure structural integrity on designed producst are according to customer and class requirements.
• Structural analysis of parts and assemblies (A-frames, winches, cranes…)
• Local structural analysis (welded and bolted connections)
• Maintaining accurate documentation of the design process in form of FEM results and supporting calculations, including documentation for class approvals
• Calculation reports for internal and external use (e.g. for class society)

 

Qualifications and experience: 

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred (BA or MA)
• Theoretical knowhow on structural calculations

• Relevant FEM experience (Femap, Ansys…)
• Relevant additional software experience (Mathcad, Excel...)

• Knowledge on material data/selection of material etc. 
• Understanding and evaluation of results from calculations
• Proficient written and spoken skills in English
