Project Development Support Manager

In combination with this role, you will lead and take responsibility for the organisation and development of Statkrafts early stage projects and progress them to pre-planning stage as well as offering support to projects during the planning phase.

Working in the Project Development Team in Cork, Ireland

As a Project Development Support Manager in the Development Team, you’ll:

  • Manage and lead a team comprising of GIS Specialists, Land Procurement Officers and the Communications & Stakeholder Management Team which includes Community Liaison Officers;. The role will also include management and coordination with project teams including external consultants and service providers.
  • Take ownership of Statkraft’s pipeline of feasibility stage projects and progress all aspects to allow projects to advance to pre-planning stage.
  • Manage the development and design of the early stage projects in line with Statkraft standards.
  • Manage the EIA process for the early stage projects including the co-ordination of bird and bat monitoring and the appointment and management of external surveying consultants.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, and business case preparation to progress projects to pre-planning stage including regular reporting on the status of projects to Senior Management.
  • Provide planning and environmental support and expertise to the Statkraft Senior Project Managers.
  • Input into renewable energy policy consultations and local authority County Development Plans.

About you:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven individual with experience and motivation for making a strong impact on the Renewable Energy sector, with:

  • Third level degree within relevant field or documented extensive experience in the field.
  • Preferably 3-5 years relevant work experience in a similar field of managing a team(s) across a number of disciplines.
  • Minimum 7-10 year’s work experience in a similar field of managing feasibility stage development projects with with an affinity in working with renewables in particular the Project Development Stages of a Project.
  • Experience of dealing with land agreements and land negotiations to lead the Land Procurement Team.
  • Strong understanding of the EIA process including constraints analysis in order to lead the GIS team. Ecology expertise is advantageous.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with local communities and an understanding of community dynamics in order to lead the Stakeholder Management Team.
  • Demonstrated ability of working with planning and EIA processes for the onshore wind and solar sectors.
  • Experience of having full responsibility for management of project budgets and schedules for renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent IT skills (Share-point and MS Applications.)
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.

English language fluency is preferred.
