We are expanding the planning department in Supply Chain, and we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner to help us build processes and systems for the future and be a part of Kongsberg Discovery’s expansion and growth both in Norway and globally. The Production Planner’s responsibilities will be to make reliable plans based on capacity and material availability and always seek improvements in the existing planning process to remain predictable and reliable.

To be successful as a Production Planner, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. You will be part of the planning department, but work closely in cross functional team with operators, team leaders, purchasers, coordinators, and other key functions in Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Create short-term and long-term production plans and coordinate production based on customer requirements, resources, materials, and capacity.
• Identify production issues and bottlenecks to minimize delays in production.
• Develop and improve planning processes and identify production flow improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Effectuate changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
• Promptly inform the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
• Compile status and performance reports and submit them to management in a timely manner.
  
  

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred.
• Experience working as a production planner.
• Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software. Preferably Microsoft AX2012 or D365.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
