We are currently looking for an experienced Product Developer to become part of MENU's Product & Development team. 

As part of the Development team, you will perform the technical development on assigned development projects according to MENU’s design & quality requirements, constantly balancing design input with manufacturing possibilities and optimization, cost of goods, calculations etc. and in this way take a leading role in the successful launch of new products according to design briefs from our Brand & Design Department. 

Your work field will be within our furniture category.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee all development activities on assigned projects, from handover of design brief to successful implementation in Supply Chain.
• Search and validation of qualified production facilities/suppliers.
• Satisfactory earning on products.
• Satisfactory quality level.
• Take ownership throughout the lifecycle of the product.

 

MAIN JOB TASKS 

• Evaluate initial design concept from designers from a product/production point of view: Manufacturing methods, assembly, materials, manufacturing costs and tooling investments.
• Create documentation for manufacturing; 3D drawings in SolidWorks, quality specifications etc.
• Set up a project timeline and activity plan in correspondence with the launching plan to ensure deadlines are kept.
• Obtain competitive pricing by worldwide sourcing and negotiations.
• Close collaboration with suppliers to make sure that all product details are according to MENU demands and specifications.
• Packaging.
• Testing.
• Product creation in ERP system, assembly instructions, care Instructions, quality manuals etc.
• Follow customer claims and make immediate corrective actions on generic quality issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and secure best choice of supplier on all parameters.

PERSONAL SKILLS

• Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and technical knowhow.
• Good communication skills for both internal- and external collaboration.
• Well-structured and organized with high dedication and responsibility of ownership.
• Deadline discipline.
• Works well in a dynamic and fast environment and accepts challenges as part of the daily tasks.

 

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• You have an education as a Design Engineer or equivalent technical/design-oriented education.
• 3 -5 years of experience in product development of furniture.
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office software and SolidWorks.
• Speaks and writes English and preferably Danish fluently.
