To meet an exciting and sustainable future, we are seeking a Product Advisor Defence Applications to help manage our programs and solutions for marine robotics. With us you will be a part of the forefront of tech solutions for the marine environment.

You will be part of the Marine Robotics department, who create, design, and build autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USVs) that can explore from the sea surface and down to 6000 meters below. Our vehicles can operate alone for days and weeks at a time, gathering information about the seafloor, the water, and objects in or on the water. We create and integrate advanced sensors for information gathering, maritime navigation, and communication. 

 

What you will be working on

This is a multi-faceted role which includes applications development as well as technical sales and programs support. You will work as a bridge between end users, engineering teams, product managers, and sales. You will develop and analyze concepts for uncrewed and autonomous systems in line with naval CONOPS for applications such as MCM, ASW, ASuW, and ISR. You will also advise on product and portfolio improvements and developments and oversee and validate such improvements.

You will be joining our product department which consists of a dedicated group of people responsible for the entire Marine Robotics portfolio at Kongsberg Maritime. You will occasionally join our field operators as well as end users in the field, assisting with mission, data, and sensor analysis expertise. You will work in close collaboration with our Product Manager for Defence Applications. Although focusing on naval competence and responsibilities, we are looking for you who is able and willing to transfer that knowledge into commercial applications and problem areas. You are adept at using product management IT-tools, or eager to learn such tools.

 

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to developing and analysing concepts for uncrewed and autonomous systems in line with naval CONOPS
• Initiation, product leadership, verification, and validation of product improvements and developments
• Assist sales team with bid coordination, programs development, and capability requirements
• Product management and life cycle support
• Occasional presence in field operations with focus on mission, data, and sensor analysis expertise
• Occasional advanced technical support by analysing customer issues

Qualifications

•  You have recent naval operational experience (Scandinavia, NATO, RAN, RNZN)
• Bachelor’s degree or higher within relevant field. Experience can compensate for a degree.
• You have excellent oral and written English skills.
