An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Commercial Marine business for the key role of Mechanical Assembly Fitter based at our Dalgety Bay site in Dunfermline.  On site we manufacture stabiliser and steering gear systems for both commercial and naval customers as well as having the capability to service all commercial marine equipment in the UK. The successful candidate will be working within a pool of fitters, responsible for the assembly and testing of our OEM products while also doing service work in the factory overhauling commercial marine equipment.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for assembly and testing of stabiliser/steering gear, shaftlines, gearboxes together with other marine equipment according to drawing, specifications and working instructions.
• Working on hydraulic systems preparing equipment for testing with our customers.
• Problem solving as required to overcome manufacturing challenges.
• Support the service team in the repair and overhaul of Kongsberg equipment in the workshop.
• Work with the leadership team to manage HSE and drive continuous improvement.

 Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Time served recognized apprenticeship or NC and SVQ level 3 in engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment. 
• Valid EU Passport or other current permission to work in the UK
