International Trainee Programme: Project Development, European Wind and Solar.

Are you looking to start your career as a trainee in a company where you’ll be surrounded by and learn from smart people who truly care about their work positively impacting the green energy transition?

Statkraft’s International Trainee Programme is a great introduction into working life. You will spend 16 months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates, and kick start your career in renewables. The programme consists of three job rotations across the company, of which at least one will be abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and share experiences. You will also become a part of our brand-new CEO-led Future Board – an advisory board made up of trainees and young professionals at Statkraft who will advise and challenge our CEO on key issues and topics. For the first time ever, young professionals get a seat at the table, and will help shape our future here at Statkraft. 

We have two trainee positions available across this area. Please specify on your application which location you prefer. 

Trainee, Wind and Solar Development, Wind & Solar Business Area  
Location: Dusseldorf or Madrid. 

As a trainee within Wind and Solar development, you will be an integral part of helping to deliver the green energy transition.  

Our team works to acquire wind and solar projects and develop them from ideation to making an investment decision, to project developmentconstruction and maintenanceAs part of this process, we must also get access to land, apply for permits and arrange grid access. Together with colleagues across departments, we carefully monitor project profitability, work on the technical designs, procure equipment and take the assets through construction. For each project, this can take several years, and we work hard to not only overcome technical, administrative, legal and commercial hurdles, but also to make our projects well received by local communities and follow examples for best practice. As a trainee in Project Development for Wind and Solar, you will support the team in all tasks described above, and overall help develop, clean, renewable energy. 

About you: 

  • Master’s degree in energy engineeringbusinesseconomics or other relevant fields 

  • You have got a passion for the renewable energy industry 

  • You are a team player and a people person 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • You are well structured and able to collaborate with different stakeholders 

  • You have an eye for the important details, and manage deadlines successfully 

  • You are commercially-minded  

  • You are fluent in English, as well as German or Spanish. Proficiency in other languages such as French, Italian or Dutch would be an advantage.
