International Trainee Programme: Business Development, Hydrogen

Kraftproduksjon

Are you looking to start your career as a trainee in a company where you’ll be surrounded by and learn from smart people who truly care about their work positively impacting the green energy transition?

Statkraft’s International Trainee Programme is a great introduction into working life. You will spend 16 months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates, and kick start your career in renewables. The programme consists of three job rotations across the company, of which at least one will be abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and share experiences. You will also become a part of our brand-new CEO-led Future Board – an advisory board made up of trainees and young professionals at Statkraft who will advise and challenge our CEO on key issues and topics. For the first time ever, young professionals get a seat at the table, and will help shape our future here at Statkraft.

Trainee in Hydrogen Business Development
Location: Oslo

As a trainee in hydrogen business development you will be an integral part of delivering the energy transition.

Statkraft is committed to developing new businesses to enable the green shift, and one of the key activities in this area is to develop renewable hydrogen. We are aiming to be a significant player in the Nordic markets and have developed a substantial project portfolio which will be further developed to reach that target.

The Hydrogen Team is responsible for growing Statkraft’s renewable hydrogen activities. Hydrogen will play a role within the hard to abate sector like heavy transport and industry, and our job is to develop hydrogen projects in these areas from the initial idea towards commissioning. To realize this, we need to work together with partners in the value chain, negotiate commercial agreements, acquire funding, and mature the projects technically. This also involves getting access to land, applying for permits and arranging grid access. Each project takes years and we must work hard to overcome technical, administrative, legal, and commercial hurdles, and make our projects well received by local communities and examples for best practice.

The Hydrogen Team currently consists of 7 highly competent and passionate employees with diverse backgrounds, located in Oslo and Stockholm. The team is growing, and we are now looking for a dedicated trainee to further strengthen our team!

As a Trainee, you will help the team originate and mature business opportunities within renewable hydrogen. You will help driving renewable hydrogen projects through internal decision processes and engage with both internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

We are looking for trainees with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. This includes:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. economics, business administration, science, engineering, urban planning, legal or similar)

  • Interest in the future development of the renewable energy industry

  • You are well structured

  • You have a commercial mindset

  • Self-driven and a positive team player

  • Fluency in Norwegian and English.

At Statkraft, we’re always looking for people with great social and communication skills. People who love to lead, teach and help others learn.
