 Statkraft's Origination business in Europe and France:

Electricity from renewable sources in Europe is increasingly marketed on wholesale markets through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). We are a leader in this sector in Europe, with approximately 12,000 MW of production capacity under contract. Our customers are companies that develop, operate or finance wind, photovoltaic, hydroelectric power plants but also consumers who want to green their supply.

We take care of the production forecasts, the marketing of the electricity generated, the balancing and the remote control for these installations.  We actively participate in the energy transition in France, and are a member of France Energie Eolienne, the Renewable Energy Union and the steering committee of the Franco-German Office for energy transition.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

To support its development, Statkraft is looking for  a

Intern or Alternant, Data Scientist renewable energies (m/f).

Your missions :

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will evolve in an international context.  Your main missions will be:

  • Exploiter  data from wind and photovoltaic power plants (time series of production data, etc.)  and market price data,
  • Manipuler, process and perform statistical analyses on often large datasets,
  • Develop dashboards  for monitoring performance indicators related to the plants in the portfolio and the valuation of their energy,
  • Develop algorithms and program tools for the processing and analysis of this data,
  • Statistics and modelling: conducting statistical analyses and developing explanatory and predictive models for decision support.
  • Assist the project manager in the marketing effort and structuring of transactions.

Your profile:

  •  You are in training in  engineering school or in high-level training in the field of information processing
  • You have a strong interest in renewable energies and their integration into the market,
  • You have an excellent level in statistics and quantitative analysis (theoretical and practical knowledge, intuition, ease of understanding models and applying them),
  • You are proficient in the Python programming language ,
  • You are fluent in French and English.
  • You enjoy a multicultural and European working environment
  • Your curiosity, rigor and your autonomy are essential qualities,
  • You are available for 4 months to 6 months for an internship, and 1 year for the work-study program, as soon as possible.
