Insurance & Cross-Border Specialist

My name is Marcus Wernersson, I am the Country Chief Operating Officer for SEB in Luxembourg. As part of our ambition to further develop excellence as the competence centre for Cross border Private Banking activities within SEB Group, we are now looking for an Insurance & Cross-border specialist mainly supporting in the insurance governance and cross-border distribution of banking products, that can replace a current employee who is leaving for new challenges.

SEB Luxembourg serves as the hub for Private Banking services to Nordic nationals living abroad. It is also the base for many of SEB’s funds and offers global custody and related depositary services to financial institutions.

About the job
Life Insurances are an integrated part of SEB Private Banking holistic service offering. Within the insurance area, you will support our international sales, wealth planning and the product owner in the cross-border distribution of insurance products in the different markets that we operate in. You will guide and provide information on tax and other legal matters when it comes to insurances and ensure that the services meets regulatory demands. You are also expected to sometimes deal directly with clients and prospects.

In addition to acting as an insurance specialist you will also support in the governance and legal aspects of our cross-border offering. This entails that you are knowledgeable in the cross-border framework in the different markets that we operate in.

The position will be based in Luxembourg.

Who are you?
As an Insurance and Cross-Border Specialist in International Private Banking you need to have a good understanding of insurance products and the legal framework in different markets. Some knowledge of cross-border taxation issues related to insurances is an advantage. You also need to have a willingness to expand your knowledge of the taxation and regulatory systems in the Nordic countries and in our core markets in Europe and Asia.

You have a university degree in international business or law, preferably a Master of Law, and work experience in a similar role within a leading international life insurance company or bank. Experience in client facing situations would be considered an advantage. You also have excellent oral and written language skills in a Scandinavian language and English. Additional languages are considered as an advantage.

You are business-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit, have good knowledge of financial markets and investments in particular, and enjoy the challenges of an expansive international environment. As an Insurance and Cross-Border Specialist you must therefore have a very strong customer and business focus in combination with your legal and regulatory expertise. 

As a person, you are ambitious, highly motivated and service minded. You are proactive, structured, and solution oriented. You enjoy challenges, take responsibility for your own development and are used to work independently, but see collaboration, within as well as outside Private Banking globally, as a prerequisite for your success.
