Debt Capital Markets (DCM) is an integral part of Handelsbanken’s investment bank. The department comprises 45 experts providing specialised financing solutions, primarily to corporate and real estate customers. Our product offering ranges from bilateral and syndicated loans to arrangement of corporate bonds and commercial paper programs. Our geographical scope includes Handelsbanken’s six home markets, namely Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Great Britain and the Netherlands. Our capabilities in sustainable finance, debt structuring and other advisory services are crucial in providing complete and tailored financing solutions to customers in these markets.

Responsibilities
In this position, you will have a key role in DCM’s management team. You will lead the expansion of our offering in sustainable finance and debt advisory, and have an opportunity to shape the strategy for making environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria an integrated part of our ordinary finance offering and customer engagement. You will manage a team of eight highly motivated and experienced colleagues with backgrounds ranging from green bonds and loans to debt structuring and acquisition finance. The team is considerably self-activating and holds significant expertise in both sustainable finance and debt advisory. As you will be directly involved in advising and negotiating financing solutions with customers, you will also work closely together with colleagues in DCM’s origination teams and the bank’s branch offices.   

Requirements
We are looking for an inclusive leader and a confident decision-maker with significant experience of developing talents and motivation among staff. You have held senior roles in the financial sector and have extensive experience within sustainable finance and/or sustainability development. You are business oriented and passionate about advising customers regarding their ESG challenges and financing requirements. Previous experience from debt-related advisory is a merit, but not a requirement. You have a strong sense of integrity and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. You have a university degree and a genuine interest in finance as well as greening of the financial sector. Your verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English are unencumbered.
