Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer in Project Management

We have a job vacancy at BI Norwegian Business School in the Department of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour; as associate professor or senior lecturer in project management with specialisation relevant to organizational behaviour. Emphasis is placed on the management aspects of project management. The positions will be affiliated with the project management faculty group.

The Department of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour and the Project Management group offer education in project management at Bachelor's and Master's level (Master of Science, Executive Master of Management, EMBA). The appointed person must expect teaching and supervision assignments in project management in bachelors, masters and Executive courses. BI is looking for people with a great ability to communicate knowledge, research results and practical knowledge to our students.

 

COMPETENCE CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • For the position of associate professor, applicants must have a relevant doctoral degree or the equivalent. The candidates for the position of associate professor should be able to document the ability to publish high-quality research in leading journals beyond PhD.
  • For the senior lecturer position, we want to see proof of your ability to publish pedagogical works and cases aimed at teaching, as well as good pedagogical skills in the delivery of teaching – digitally and in the lecture rooms. We are happy to meet applicants with a PhD for the senior lecturer position. BI may consider hiring candidates for the position of lecturer with a requirement for qualification as a senior lecturer, if our assessment of relevant candidates indicates this.
  • Good pedagogical skills and/or pedagogical qualifications will be given much weight. BI requires permanent employees to have educational competence at a university and university college level. Those who do not meet the requirements for employment shall be required to fulfil them within two years of employment.

Part of the department's teaching portfolio is aimed at Norwegian working life. The person chosen must therefore master the Norwegian/Scandinavian language and have knowledge and understanding of Norwegian/Scandinavian working life.

Applicants who do not have sufficient knowledge of the Norwegian/Scandinavian language must have acquired Norwegian language skills equivalent to level B2 within three years of employment.

 

FOR ASSESSMENT, EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON:

  • Research publications and research potential
  • Cooperation with private business and/or the public sector, including cooperation related to R&D, research dissemination and research-based advice.
  • Other advisory, dissemination activities, research management and contributions to research projects may also be taken into account. In addition, consideration will be given to any administrative experience, management expertise and business knowledge.

Ideally, the candidate has expertise in running and managing projects, establishing and organizing projects, portfolios and project-based enterprises, implementation models and innovation and knowledge development in projects and project-based activities.

Competence assessment is carried out in accordance with the standard rules for academic and educational positions at universities and scientific colleges and in accordance with requirements in the job vacancy ad. Relevant applicants will be called in for an interview. Applicants must also be prepared to give a trial lecture or seminar presentation.

The position has a pension agreement via BI/Storebrand and is paid according to the standard scheme.
