We are looking for qualified colleagues for the position of Floor Manager in the department Food &Beverage aboard our passenger ships King- and Princess Seaways, sailing between Amsterdam-Newcastle.

On board both vessels we have Ala’Carte Restaurant with seasonal menu and waiter service. Our buffet restaurant Explorers Kitchen, provides both morning and dinner for several hundred guests at the peak season. At the same time, we do have Coffee Crew includes morning and evening treats with homemade cakes, cookies and Starbucks concept combined with.

Apart from the Restaurants and dining concepts we do have 4 bars on board- Indoor Pub Navigators & Compass, Columbus Night Club and outside Sky Bar-which is open mainly March-October only

We only work with the best ingredients in all our restaurants and you will have ample opportunity to gain experience across all the concepts. We have guests of all ages and from many different countries. As part of our restaurant team, you will have a central role on board the ship when we together give our guests the special experience of enjoying a dinner at sea.

 

THE JOB 

In the position of Floor Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of our Restaurants and Bars on board.
It is also your responsibility that all applicable standards and administrative routines for the area are adhered to. Your working day will primarily take place on the floor, where you have a high level of contact with the guests and staff.

In collaboration with your manager, you will also be responsible for implementing new initiatives to strengthen the customer experience and sales results.
Your daily walk will take place in the operation, where you focus on the following:

• Sales performance
• Preparation of daily staffing plan
• Briefing of staff
• Handling rice & praise from guests
• One to One conversations with employee

In addition, it will be your responsibility to motivate and coach the employees to ensure that they always provide exceptional service and that guests have a good experience. You will therefore have a great influence on the well-being of the employees, the professional level and the guests' experience.

THE PRACTICALITIES

Work is under way on board the ship. Here you must be prepared for a work rhythm where you work 14 days, after which you have 14 days off. The working day typically ranges from 10-13 hours per day.

The salary follows the agreement between DFDS A/S and Metal Maritime. It is net salary that is not taxed (DIS) when you are resident in the EU.
