Financial Analyst

About the Unit

Yara is the world's largest producer of ammonia, nitrates and NPKs, offering solutions for sustainable agriculture respecting the environment. Our products and solutions help industry reduce emissions, improve air quality, and prioritize effective operations safely. The Yara Porsgrunn site is located at Herøya outside Porsgrunn, about 140 km southwest of Oslo. The site covers an area of approximately 1.5 square kilometers.


The wholly owned facilities are fully integrated for nitrogen-based products and have Yara's and Europe's largest installed production capacity for NPK complex fertilizers based on the nitrophosphate route. The site has one ammonia plant, four nitric acid plants, two NPK plants and two calcium nitrate (CN) plants. The facilities produce a wide range of NPK and CN product grades, developed to meet the needs of crop fertilization under various climates and soil conditions. Approximately two thirds of the volume produced is sold overseas, mainly in Asia. The balance is sold in various countries in Europe.


We are seeking to strengthen the finance department by appointing a new Financial Analyst. You’ll be working closely with the respective production plants and administrative functions, analyzing performance, providing business support, and following up on investment activities.


You will report to the Finance Manager and be a key member of a competent and experienced finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Turn data into insight by analyzing financial performance, identify gaps and opportunities to provide support and advice to Line Management and the broader organization
  • Prepare and report financial data for dedicated business units
  • Follow-up cost spend and resources frames, and participate in the business planning process
  • Collaborate with different finance units in an international network

Profile

  • Master’s in business administration or other relevant university degree
  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Strong analytical capabilities combined with practical business approach and solid communication skills
  • Experienced user of IT tools
  • Ability to influence decisions makers at all levels
  • Fluent in English and one Scandinavian language
