We’re currently looking for a high-performing person for the Field Service Engineer / Technician job position.

During the operational lifetime of more than 30.000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades, and spare parts in order to secure availability and predictability to our customers.

Overall tasks & responsibilities

 

• Commissioning & service activities onboard vessels & shipyards with Kongsberg Maritime systems.
• Support handling technical inquiries together with Technical Support & Engineering department.
• Following the company’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Health and Safety (HSE) regulations.
• Timely and accurate completion of service reports, timesheets, and expense reports.
• Participation in the development of work processes.
• Collaboration with customers and KM supporting engineers.
• Prioritize and complete tasks for the assigned service job or project.
• Report all safety & security related incidents on site.
• Ownership over assigned cases and / or service trips.
• Suggest improvements to our products and report needs to the Operations Manager.
• Make pro-active suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboard.

 

Skills and requirements

 

• A degree in vocational high school with min. 5 years’ experience or associate degree or bachelor’s degree on electric, electronic, automation, mechanical, marine engineering, with a 2 - 4 years of experience as marine electricians.
• Experience with KM products or marine industry is considered as an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience with basic networking, MS World and Excel.
• Readiness for domestic and international travel at short notice.
• Customer service oriented, ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to multitask, high focus on problem solving.
• Able to work alone and with a team, high motivation to work.
• Good communication skills and fluent in English.
• Dedication and desire to build a long career within the technical field.
