Höegh Evi is seeking an Indonesian Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to join our vessel FSRU PGN Lampung. The ETO will be responsible for executing all daily technical and electrical duties on board in accordance with the vessel’s duty plan.
You will serve as one of two ETOs assigned to the vessel and will report directly to the Chief Engineer. The primary work location is on board the PGN FSRU Lampung in Indonesia, with the possibility of future assignments on other vessels within our fleet.
About the Role
The Electro Technical Officer (ETO) is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and operational safety of all electrical systems on board.
Qualifications
- Must be an Indonesian citizen and hold a valid Indonesian passport.
- Minimum 6 months of prior experience on LNG and/or LPG tankers.
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a previous or equivalent ETO position.
- Possession of a valid STCW Certificate of Competency (COC): Electro‑Technical Officer, STCW III/6.
- Possession of a valid STCW Certificate of Proficiency (COP): Gas Assist, STCW V/1‑2‑1.
- Possession of a valid Seafarer’s Identity Document.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities and Safety The Electrician/ETO is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the operational safety of all electrical systems on board under the supervision of the Chief Engineer.
Key duties include actively promoting and using the company Safety Management System (SMS), participating in safety meetings, tool box talks, and Near Miss reporting, as well as providing feedback on operational improvements. Work and rest hours must be followed, documented, and reported if any breaches occur.
Technical Maintenance and Operation The Electrician/ETO manages maintenance and control of electrical generators, motors, switchboards, distribution boards, lifts, hoisting devices, cranes, and battery systems, including lifeboat and GMDSS batteries.
Internal communication systems are checked and maintained as required by the Master, and all test and calibration equipment must always be operational. Fire detection systems and alarms are tested weekly, with results recorded in relevant systems, and local port requirements are observed.
Control and maintenance of impressed current systems, electrical stores, lighting system and spare parts stock, including ordering through the Chief Engineer, are part of daily tasks.
Daily Checks and Additional Duties
Daily checks of electrical switchboards, ICCP system, IAS status, including the field sensors, positioners etc., with any irregularities reported directly to the Chief Engineer.
The Electrician/ETO assists the 2nd Engineer in troubleshooting machinery shutdowns and trips, supports maintenance and verification of the Gas Chromatograph, conducts megger tests, and performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
