Our R&I department in Kristiansand is on the lookout for a new team member to join our research team as we innovate towards the green change, by finding novel and improved solutions for our customers while supporting our current operations.

The ECS R&I department is a culturally diverse team of highly qualified professionals that carry out innovation projects within raw materials, product development, technical customer support and core research into carbon-based products for the pyrometallurgical industry.

Most important areas of responsibility: 

• New product development and improvements to existing products
• Providing support to our production facilities
• Preparing and Testing Samples: make sure to prepare and test samples efficiently and accurately, following the specific steps outlined in our guidelines.
• Equipment Maintenance and Repair: daily care of laboratory equipment, quickly identifying and fixing small issues to prevent delays.
• Organizing the Lab: keep the lab clean and well-organized by applying the 5S Lean method, ensuring everything is in its right place.
• Teamwork: collaborate with the lab's management and team members, being ready to take on extra responsibilities and help achieve our shared objectives.

Qualifications required for the position:

• An educational background in Chemical/Material Science or other related discipline
• Experience with high-volume sample management and multitasking across tests/workstations.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Committed to safety, quality, and environmental principles.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years experience
