An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Documentation Engineer to join Kongsberg Maritime’s Global Customer Support division based in Kristinehamn. We are looking for someone who is organized, motivated, and focused on technical writing and delivering high-quality documentation.


As a Documentation Engineer, you will:
• Collaborate closely with design engineers, technical support engineers, field service engineers, and other stakeholders across the organization.
• Be responsible for managing documentation in project or sub-project form. Being actively involved in development projects, coordinating and preparing project documentation.
• Develop, analyse, and update information.
• Ensure all content is accurate and written in a professional manner.
• Review and verify information according to established formats and standards.
• Communicate clearly and concisely to ensure high-quality results in the technical documentation.
• Use your initiative to drive processes systematically from start to finish, also accepting responsibility for the results.

Documentation may include technical function descriptions, procedure instructions, and various checklists.

Qualifications and experience
• A genuine interest in technology, technical writing, and communication skills are essential.
• A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent experience/knowledge is preferred.
• Experience as a technical author, along with knowledge of working with XML-based tools (preferably according to S1000D standards), is a merit.
• A high level of written (and oral) English is necessary, as Kongsberg Maritime’s official business language is English.
