DFDS Logistics Ghent is looking for two Dispatchers

Position

We are looking for two Dispatchers to join our Ghent National and International Planning Team. This job offers a wide variety of tasks. You will be performing in an experienced team and you will get to know all facets of international transport.  Performance of all operational, commercial and administrative tasks in the business related to transport, smoothly and cost efficiently.

Your Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible for processing orders in relevant systems, supporting transport planning mainly executed with charter trucks & DFDS trailers. You will support daily planning, contributing to obtain the best possible roundtrip, keeping empty running at a minimum. You will be a point of coordination and contact for customers, hauliers, drivers, shipping departments and warehouse. You will follow up drivers/subcontractors ensuring on-time deliveries.

Additional tasks:

• Ensure customer requirements are met within time with appropriate equipment utilized and/or seeking alternatives to meet requirements
• Ensure all details of customers criteria are communicated to all relevant parties, follow-up and feedback given
• Ensure that  the company’s activities are in accordance with the legal requirements and the standards specified by ISO and SQUAS are maintained

Profile : We are looking for an ambitious and motivated person, who is interested in dealing with Customers and hauliers.  This person has also good communication skills, is a self-starter with good knowledge of Microsoft Office Package. Good knowledge of Dutch, English (and French) is essential.

Soft skills : You have a flexible approach to the working hours (shifts: 06:00-14:00 & 14:00-22:00). You have a problem solving mindset/ability to manage conflicting priorities. You are a Logical thinker and have strong analytical skills, and a head for numbers.
